Went here for dinner with our pooch. They have a patio with table and chairs. Heard they had great fried chicken and burgers too. We took a risk to have burgers and fries from a Taqueria. They were excellent! Fresh patties cooked when ordered. Hot fries crispy on the outside creamy inside. The buns are heated on the griddle soft and crispy edges. Just wished they had milkshakes. We will return here on our next visit. Maybe try the fried chicken. Highly recommend.

The Wednesday special hamburger and enchiladas were just right. The fries were outstanding and crispy.

This is my go to place for chicken tacos in HMB. The guys behind the counter are kind and are bilingual. Supper helpful and will suggest if you ask. I like sitting outside. But this place is conveniently located down the street from the beach so a quick grab and go is also ideal here. They have lots on the menu from american to mexican, my go to every time are the tacos sorry not sorry!! The salsa hits the spot, not overwhelming or watered down, I'll be back!

Don't be surprised how good the food is because it's amazing. In addition to all of the spectacular Mexican-American offerings on the menu, they have the best Fried Chicken on the Coast. Fabulous for taking to the beach, home or in. Don't let the atmosphere put you off, service is quick and friendly and the food is very reasonably priced.

We stopped here for lunch on 31st Dec. It was crowded that day but their service was fast. Classic Mexican food joint with all kinds of options. I tried shrimp rice bowl and enjoyed it. They give free chips and salsa while you wait for your food. A good place to try if you are in half moon bay area and want to try Mexican!

I think we may have discovered a new favorite taco place in Half Moon Bay - this place was fantastic. the owner/manager was super friendly, and the place is pretty quiet for a Friday night with plenty of booth space. We got seven tacos: carne asada, lengua, pollo adobado, pastor. Pastor was our favorite, followed closely by pollo adobado. Lengua is a great palate cleanser, and carne asada was pretty standard. The plain tacos come with two tortillas, diced onions, cilantro, and pre-selected salsas. I actually really liked that because it felt like they had thought about the best/most traditional meat + salsa pairings. 100% worth the value, and we'll be back soon!

As others have stated the fried chicken is good. I suggest a plate with Mexican rice instead of the French fries. Add to it Modelo Especial and you are set for a delicious meal. Unlike Popeye's, the order from La Mexicana is cooked fresh. The beer might be needed to cool a chicken burn on your fingertips. :-) Also unlike Popeye's this chicken is non spicy. Good for the general public. But sometimes I need more. When I do at least I know La Mexicana has more on the menu to offer If there is one crappy thing about this place it is the restroom. Imagine an early 70's room not having any maintenance since built and you'll get a vision of their restroom. Otherwise known as the baño de la experiencia aterradora. La Mexicana is a good eating experience. I will be back!
